∑Xce7ion, or Excelion is my second attempt on blogging and my first attempt on blogging from a self-host Wordpress. This blog was born from my increasing frustrations at the limitations of the free version of WP…that, plus a sense of starting anew.
This blog, like its predecessor, focuses mainly but is not entirely limited to Anime. There will be days where this blog will talk about manga, gaming, and most likely, uttermost nonsense.
I got the name ∑Xce7ion from the anime series, Black Cat. Excelion is the name of a weapon comprised of a glove with indestructable wires. As to why I chose the name, it’s because the weapon happens to be Jenos Hazard’s, otherwise known as Chrono Number VII. Got the idea yet?
The name of the blog written in a combination of uppercase letters Greek alphabets and numbers is just an indicator of my boredom attempt to make the the blog name look cooler and make it stand out in blogrolls…that is, if they can type the ‘∑’ part. 
So what happened to old ‘Chirping Crickets’? Oh don’t worry…it’s not completely gone. In fact, I chose the domain name as tribute to the old blog (more on this later after I finish building the main site).

I am a person who’s ridiculously susceptible to boredom, giving rise to my constant pursuit of all things new and my eagerness to learn, whatever that may be.
I am currently a Chemical Engineering student residing somewhere in Eastern USA. I guess you can say blame Full Metal Alchemist for enforcing that on my head. I love mathematics and most of the sciences (though I’m not necessarily good at them) and detest anything that makes you write long text. While it seems hypocritical that I have a blog after declaring my angst on writing, I’m actually using blogging in hopes of replacing that hatred into at least a sense of appreciation.
As for my anime history, I have been an avid fan of anime from a very early age, though I had no idea I was watching anime that whole time. My genre preferences are constantly changing. If anything, I guess I’m that kind of person who likes to try a bit of everything as if genres are nothing but an international buffet. Manga didn’t occur to me until much later (about 5 years ago or so), which is most likely due to my self-imposed isolation from all these things that lasted for a couple of years.
Last but not the least, I am the humble owner/operator of Kokido Kombine. As much as I’d like to talk about it here, I’m just going to leave it in that site’s About section…mainly because any attempts of writing about it here would be redundant.

About Dark Longcoat
Dark Longcoat does not have anything better to do if he’s watching anime. It is imperative that this hobby be kept a dark secret. Relatively new to blogging, Dark Longcoat finds it to be a great way to relieve a surplus of creativity. He would like to continue doing so were it not for time constraints and a bitchy muse.
Dark Longcoat is currently a high school student; his future is looking dim. Dark Longcoat is pretty good at not doing anything, and despises himself for doing it. He is often found in extended periods of an existential despair.
However, Dark’s life isn’t all that bad, not at all actually. Complaining and despairing Dark Longcoat’s way of giving meaning to his life. Dark Longcoat does indeed possess a coat that is long and considerably dark; often fancying himself a badass when it flutters in the wind.
Dark Longcoat normally does not refer to himself in the third person.
