With just two episodes of Baka To Test To Shokanjuu, I find it rather surprising and worse… horrifying that the allegedly reported trap of the show, Kinoshita Hideyoshi significantly blurs what I consider as a girl in the 2D world. As a self-proclaimed worshipper of girls, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
I usually evade traps simply because I do not swing that way; but that really didn’t stop my exposure to them, especially because I’m surrounded with folks who think traps are alright. There are even some that are rather disappointed that I prefer not to have traps. Yet despite all these, I have been successful at fending them off with my ‘anti-trap system’ that gives me a weird sensation whenever I’m presented by a 2D girl (or in some cases, 3D) that’s seemingly harmless but is actually a trap…that is until Hideyoshi came along.
Cock has always been cocky about being able to sift the genuine girls from the not-girls…but Hideyoshi got past all the defenses. And according to my observations on the cock, this was how it happened…

Cock is introduced to suspect. Cock is compelled by how attractive the suspect is. Cock notices the alleged ‘girl’ is actually wearing the boys’ uniform. Cock is alarmed at possible trap. Anti-Trap System Code Red for High-Alert.

Cock confirms suspect is indeed a trap by declaring masculinity in big bold kanji. No harm done so far. Anti-Trap System is still at Code Red but is at standby.

Subject undergoes what seems to be a mahou shoujo transformation. Panels 3 and 4 show ribbons varnished with magenta hearts. Trap has initiated evasive maneuvers by concealing traces of masculinity. In addition, Panel 4 show no presence of visible peen. Cock is fully aware that subject is anything but a girl, but is utterly confused. Anti-Trap System Error. Attempting to restart.

System has restarted successfully. Received yet another confirmation that suspect is indeed male from his identical twin sister. Facial features are unmistakably congruent. Cock considers this as a satisfactory explanation for its confusion and valid reason as to why Anti-Trap System crashed. Code Green – all is well.

Trap is clearly up to something. It’s demonstrating behavior beyond regions of predictable action. System is on Red Alert. Cock is alarmed. Initiating countermeasures…

WARNING: All walls of defense but one have been breached. Attempting to concentrate all resources on last remaining wall. Cock is not only confused but is also in a critical state. Hnnnnnnnngggggggg (cock is choking)…

Direct hit ……no response from system. Cock is in disarray…

Direct hit number two. Still no response from system. Cock has lost all its logical reasoning. Traps and genuine girls no longer have a distinction.

Direct hit number three. At this point system is presumed to be in an unrecoverable state. Cock has been fully assimilated by the trap. Mass hysteria awaits….

In conclusion
If there’s anything that makes Hideyoshi so effective compared to the long list of traps we’ve come to know, it’s the fact that this trap gave me a false premise. In other words, identifying somebody like Hideyoshi as a trap before it’s been sprung does not in effect mean that it has been disarmed. Even still, I refuse to believe Hideyoshi is not a girl; I personally think it’s all just a ruse by the female twin, Yuuko…I wish. That said, I tried to console with the blogosphere to see who else has been victimized by this infection.

He’s not supposed to be a completely convincing trap — this is all happening against his will.

Isn’t it just because Kinoshita tosses out the usual tactics for Trap Ambuscade Maneuver and continuously remind everyone that he’s a guy? Thus, as you’ve demonstrated, you breathe a sigh of relief that crisis is averted, and he then launches a sneak attack while your guard’s down. Missions Accomplished.

Yeah, if I were a boy Hideyoshi would most certainly cause a “System Failure”!!! But I’m a girl, not a lesbian yet and certainly surprised by the creators who finally gave us such an effective trap. Congrats!
