Today marks my last day for the semester making officially Summer for me as I took the last of my finals earlier this afternoon! Aside from the Summer course that I have to take, I have one week break where I am free to do whatever I want! In other words…
Hiatus Status Suspended and Regular Blogging Status Resumed
Okay, enough of school because there’s plenty of time for that pain in that ass and I don’t intend to be a masochist this Summer. A couple of things that crossed my mind…
Has there been a V2 (or higher) Version of Summer 2009 Anime Lineup yet?
Well? Has there or has not there been?
I did declare on this post that Summer 09 Lineup has been a temporarily a fail for me. I really haven’t looked at the shows thoroughly as of that time. Now that I have, I might need to lift the fail status after all considering how the shows I’ve decided to push aside suddenly became interesting. Still, there still aren’t enough shows yet..that’s why I’m asking/started looking for any other potential releases that season. Even if they’re a tad bit interesting, I wouldn’t mind as long as I have something to watch. So I took it to the web to look for stuff then I found this from this site…
I’m sure some of you might have seen this already but jeezuz…where did most of these shows come from? Some of these shows like Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu and Spice and Wolf are shows that I plan on watching as soon as I’m clear for the Summer…but a second season popping out of nowhere (again, I’m sure there has been an annoucement to these in the past which I’m oblivious to) means that I must do a marathon for these shows! On top of that, this non-traditional line up is featuring shows that I’m dying to watch! Godammit Summer…just as when I went from ‘Summer Fails’ mode to ‘Okay, maybe I’ll watch some Summer shows out of pity’ mode, along came these shows that left me no other choice but watch. It’s okay…I’m glad my wishes were heard, even if it was a bit too much.
7′s First Ever Anime Convention
I am this excited
That’s right folks! I plan on going to an Anicon this Summer! I’ve always been contemplating on going to one for a couple of years now; but every time Summer comes, the thought of AniCons just gets past my head only to realize I’ve missed the whole damn thing as I drive past by a couple of people in their cosplaying attire (Yu-Gi-Oh cosplayers last time)…and to think that I’ve been living close to the same place where they hold the goddamn convention every year. UNFORGIVABLE! To make matters worse, I had to move away from that place to another one that’s at least a good hour way on regular traffic, making it more difficult for me to get there…which is a shame since that was the same time I made it up to myself to finally get my ass on that convention…
One day, while I was browsing though their site, I came about an announcement of them relocating. And guess what…out of all the places they could have moved, they decided to relocate even closer to where I live! HOLY F*CKING SHIT! That’s what I call divine intervention. And as to not enrage the Celestial Beings responsible for this intervention, I am going to book a ticket right after I submit this post. The convention is called Anime Next and resides in the Tri-State area. So if you happen to live close by and would like to meet up, let me know! Weaboos? Sure there’s a big chance they’ll come in big numbers, but I’m not going to let them ruin my day(s).
New Eden of the East Banner

Finally, I managed to finish up another banner I’ve been dying to create ever since I saw the OP sequence for the series. There was something about their animation that I liked so much – it’s the transition of graphical elements from one point to another (e.g. rapid moving hands, sliding bars, animated vectorized floral patters, etc). To commemorate that uber animation sequence, I made this banner to mimic some of those objects. And yes…it’s animated (finally!).
So, back to good ol’ anime posting starting tomorrow.

Your first Anime Convention? Oh wow. I havent attended any anime conventions before. But I do want to go sometime. There are only few anime conventions here though so its very sad for me. ;_;

It’s true that there are a lot of anicons here, but since the US is so big, I’m lucky if there are two conventions I can go to.

Minami-ke OAD? What the hell is an OAD? And why does that description read like it’s from a completely different show?

OAD means Original Animation DVD. I had no clue either until recently. ;-(

I don’t think Nogizaka is necessarily coming out in Summer. It’s just confirmed to have a second season like Haruhi right now. Unless something changed since…yesterday when I specifically checked while doing my preview. or maybe I missed it, I don’t know. But Haruka is popular so I think it airing in Summer would have been announced somewhere. People are just guessing at Summer since that’s when it aired last time I think. ^_^;
I won’t believe a chart I’ve never seen before. I won’t let my poor heart that adores otaku romance be broken! Not when there’s no place I can find that backs it up.
Have fun at the convention. I won’t be going to one until I have a decent job lined up so I can spend all my money~
Ooo~ And I really like the new banner. Of course I’m going to have to scroll down the page when that’s the one I get because it’s all kinds of distracting. Very cool though.

I wish Nogizaka would air this Summer; but for safety’s sake, I decided not to put my hopes high. That way, I won’t get disappointed. Then again, there are always surprises so we’ll never really know.
They did say TBA for a lot of shows. So if anything, those shows under that category are least likely to show up.
I definitely will have fun. I hope you’ll be able to go to one very soon as well!

Wow…lot’s of shows. Thanks for the chart though my summer list pretty much remained the same but I’ll probably give some of the new ones a try, too. And whut? Pokemon on its 12th movie? o.O;
Anime Next, eh? Have fun! I’ve only been to NYAF last September and even though a lot of the cosplayers were god awful, it was fun. Hope you enjoy your first con. ^^

It really is a lot of shows…but still, quality is better than quantity. So yea, my list really did not change much either. And yes..POKEMON FTW IF I WERE 10 YEARS YOUNGER!

Thanks! Surprisingly, I don’t know anything about animation, myself. I just go do whatever I see on Photoshop ^_^. As for the phone…you have no idea how awesome it is until you see the show!

I’m going to Anime Expo this Summer during July with my friend for her birthday. It’ll be my first ever anime convention too. So yay~ :’D
The Eden of the East banner is really cool. I need to catch up on that one. I agree with you on the animation in the opening. It’s really cool. I get what you mean about the floral patterns and bars. They certainly remind be of vectorized brushes and whatnot. Very new age indeed. -nodnod-

You’re a Summer fan eh? Indeed, Summer should be filled with something to look forward to. Never mind whether or not the shows will be sharing; it’s all about the thrill of suspense and excitement.
I hope I’ll have fun as well. even in the presence of weaboos. Oh don’t worry, I’ll make them work for me by harassing them with my camera.
