Team Blue Round Robin: Taking on the Lolicon and all the -cons.

Hoooray!!!! I’m very proud (at the same time ashamed) to announce that I will be doing my first ever Round Robin! This month’s topic, courtesy of Team Blue itself, will be all about the lolita complex.

Quite frankly, this term is relatively new to me considering how I wasn’t completely aware of its meaning up until I started blogging, considering how I did not start blogging until about a couple or three or four months ago. So, what exactly was my first take on lolita complex? Nothing much. A lolicon on the other hand….

Okay, enough fooling around. The term lolicon, or rather the lolita part no doubt reminded me of something child-like or more specifically, female child-like. As to why I thought of that is up to anyone’s guess. If anything, lolita sounded like a Spanish word with the prefix, lita meaning smaller of version of the whatever that suffix is attached to. So in essence, lolita means little loli. When I actually looked it up, I was somewhat pleased that I sort of  hit the ballpark definition- turns out that lolicon is an attraction to younger girls.

Attraction to younger girls?! LOL..it’s amazing what the human mind is capable of conceiving. But as to whether or not that conception is a matter of good or bad, simply depends on who you’re asking. Some say lolis are merely one of the many tools at the manga/anime producer’s disposal.; while others say it’s an agent of promoting pedophilia and sexual child abuse. As for me, anything that is ever perceived as ‘bad’ by any part of society is only ‘bad’ when I treat it as ‘bad.’ [Mind aXploded yet?] I guess another way of saying it is, as long as something as the ‘agent of pedophillia’ and all bullshit part does not get to me, then as far as I’m concerned, lolis are anything but bad.

Now for a different take…I’ve always wondered how the word ‘complex’ got onto the same grounds as ‘attraction,’ or even ‘obsession’ to some extent (as in why lolita complex means ‘ attraction to lolis’). The first time I’ve heard of that word used in such a way is from Oedipus Complex, which in the simplest definition means an attraction to one’s parent(s).  Then came the series, ‘True Tears’ which introduced me to siscon (sister complex), which as you might have gussed, is an attraction to one’s sister. So where exactly am I going with this? You tell me..

Oedipus Complex…

Lolita Complex..

And judging by the trend (although it’s rather ridiculous and unlikely), maybe we’ll get to see this some time in the future…

Indeed the human mind is complex and incomprehensible as ever.

Also lulz @ the tags.

I was never attracted to any of those complexes since just thinking of it makes my mind blow.

I am the youngest and doesn’t a sister to begin with. With the oedipus one, I don’t think so but I guess it’s natural to love your parents right (depends on the treatement).

I think you said everything I said, so I’ll just say: I agree, man. Plus, I’m an otaku (or I like calling me like that), and I have absolutely no lolicon. So you can’t say it’s regular in otakusphere.

The last woof picture is lol.
